So, a couple of days ago I suddenly realized that I've missed art so much that it almost pains me. I have totally been a dA slacker, never checking things, never faving things, never reading things. I have to admit that I have regularly been checking the stuff going on in the groups I manage but somehow that doesn't count, I think. It was like a habit that actually doesn't change things. Ok, this doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I have really missed my dA friends. Yeah, I know that I say that every time when I update which happens, like, once in forever and a year, but I really mean it.

Maybe - just maybe - some of you remember me saying in one of my previous journals that I was going to the US last summer. Well, I did. It was the adventure of a lifetime, I have to admit. I was a bit sad that I didn't get to meet any of my dA friends that live there, but - well - I truly hope that my relatives will be kind enough to actually invite me again, so there'll be another chance. I still had some nice e-mail exchanges with ~Marius-Creb and ~Phantom-Fan during the time. ^^

I probably won't describe every last thing about the trip, so I'll just say that it was full of new experiences, new thoughts, new friends, new realizations, and all of that has changed me a lot. It seems that I've finally grown up in some aspects of life, which makes me happy. My inner child will always be there, I'll always be awfully excited about things and still be over-emotional from time to time, but that is what I want. I do not want to become the unhappy, inspiration-less person I can see in my parents.

Starting my 3rd year at university, I decided to join a Latvian sorority, and I truly have to say that that was one of my best decisions this far. I have never been happier, and I feel like I have finally found my place, that I finally fit in somewhere. I won't go in detail here either (I am not really allowed, actually), but I had never imagined that this also would help me form my personality in such an important way.

Y'all could bug me a little bit to upload something 'cause I lately feel like I really need a kick in the butt. I have a drawing I need to scan (I know - wow, one drawing!), but it's at least something. I actually like that one and am quite proud of it...
